We currently have a Sidewinder and have demonstrated a Ventrac mower. The Ventrac can go anywhere and the cut is excellent. We are impressed with the machine and can get a trencher and stump grinding attachment to go with it . We currently get 10 yrs out of Toro equiptment. For those who have a Ventrac , do you think I am expecting to much of the Ventrac to do all of the above and last 10 years as opposed to a Sidewinder.

We have a Ventrac that we bought new in 2006 and we have two sidewinders. I would never replace a sidewinder for a ventrac. It is a machine that can do many things, but we have a little over 700 hours on our ventrac because it seems something breaks almost every time it goes out and it is constantly leaking hydro fluid. We have broken at least three axle housings that I can remember. Currently we hardly use it at all. Just my thoughts.

Lee, Thanks for your reply. From the feedback I get from people that have both is that each has its place but they seem to use the Ventrac for general grounds and the Side-winder for around greens. Some people are happy with the machine's versatility and that is what temps me but I can not let that be the overriding decision. The new Ventrac has a contour deck but longevity of the machine is far more important. Any one else have a Ventrac?
