    I would like to propose to the GCSAA forum police a new topic entitled-The Health Corner.
    Basically as we in the business current, retired, young and old(like me)may use this corner to discuss health issues. Discussions regarding the use of natural foods, herbs, remedies and the like as substitutes for meds or the use of meds to combat problems.

    One thing that I would like to mention to begin the process involves insurance;

    I recently required a hospital stay over for pneumonia. The insurance company sent me a CHECK for $ 120. And they were so kind to also mention that I also OWE $ 1400.00 for services rendered. The reasoning given; a nurse practitioner was your physician and this person is not in the "network." I tried to explain over the phone that I was so lethargic and unable to breathe that I did not question hospital protocol. I rejected the check and filed a "grievance." They sent me a nice letter stating that you will have to wait an additional 45 days to await judgement.

    The moral of this story-make sure you question your hospital's practices first and/or ensure that your stay will be properly coded when the claim is filed.

    I would have no problem with it other than what I highlighted. If we are supposed to be people of science, then I don't think we should be discussing Voodoo.

    Well, unless we take the GIS show back to New Orleans?

    Topic would be of some interest, but of course if we maybe do a good job with a topic headline, that would work too? I've got some health questions coming up as well.

    Maybe a holistic thread under a Health board would be appropriate. I'm all for a Health board, we are all on here because we have our working conditions in common (for the most part), so discussions on sun protection, skin cancer screening, accidents or almost accidents that have occurred, stress relief ideas, and probably some of the guys who have been doing this for 30+ years lending some advice on what not to do(or you'll end up like this). It is being discussed in random threads anyways, so why not make it a board of its own.
