Hey guys, I should know this?
I am wondering if there is a formula for the following. I am pumping 300k gallons of water out of a 2.5 acre lake. How much should the lake drop ?
Average depth would be 10 feet, best guess, may 12ft at most. Thanks

    300,000 gals X acre inch/27,154 gals X 1/2.5 acres = 4.4 inches

Scott is that 1 divided by 2.5 acres? Thanks for the help.

Yes, that is correct. I knew to do that because I had the unit of "acres" in the numerator of the previous step and I wanted to end up with an answer in "inches".

    300,000 x 3.78 liters = 1134000 liters / 10000 sq meters = 113 liters per square meter

    113.4 / 25.4 mm per inch = 4.46 inches
