    I am working on a project that includes building a tee on the roof of an underground cart storage building and would like to know if anyone has done this before. We would like to minimize the weight load on the spancrete so any information on soil profile/root zone mix alternatives would be helpful.

    I agree with artificial turf. you can get great astro turf today. Almost better than real grass (for driving ranges). I've seen a picture of an Army Colonel hitting a golfball off of Sadams palace.......used astro turf with great results.

    You may want to reach out to the director of golf at Merion Golf Course in Philly, Matt Schaffer.
    i know they built a driving range tee on the roof of their new maintenance facility. It was quite a project. He could be a good resource.

    check out this site www.synturf.com

    They have some amazing low turf that is backfilled with sand. and drains also.
