Some impressive football played this weekend........lead by Alabama and Wisconsin.......both looked big, strong and fast and made their two opponents look inferior........the Tide is as strong as I first thought and I truly believe the Badgers are better this year than the team that should have won the Rose Bowl this past January.......Wilson is a better qb than the predecessor in my opinion..........Arkansas bounced back and bounced the Aggies out of the rankings.............two weeks in a row for A&M collapses............some new faces in the rankings this week.......how long with they remain?

Arkansas welcomed Texas A&M to the SEC. Wonder if they want to rethink that move now?

Clemson looks really good, didn't see the game spent Saturday watching marching bands, but looking at the paper Sunday morning, Va Tech wasn't as good as advertised?

Nebraska's performance was Callahanesque. Go away from what is working and put the game in the hands of a spastic. # 15 is generous. I'll be headed back Lincoln for the Buckeye game which, based on the OSU's performance, should be a real barn burner.

Nebraska's performance was simply ...bad. They run the ball early and look good doing it, then get away from it. The defence continues to be a sieve, I have to hope they can figure out this D thing, and meet the Badgers again in the Big 10 championship.

Don't be too hard on the huskers. They got beat by a team that we're all just beginning to realizie is really freakin good. Enthusiasm kept them in it early, but then the floodgates opened and they really couldn't stay in their gameplan once they got that far behind. It happens.

Clemson has got to be the surprise team of 2011. Who saw that coming?

I completely agree Clemson looked good Saturday night. I think Wisconsin is the clear cut favorite in the big 10, and i believe wholeheartedly that the heisman race right now is between Russell Wilson and Trent Richardson. The SEC looks like bama's to lose, and the Pac 12 is like usual not good. Well except for Stanford.

A question for you Big 10 guys.......suppose I could google it as Scott suggest to me all the time but why not ask the experts. What is the format of the Big 10 with their split divisions now. I do not think the Legends and the Leaders are any way split geographically.i.e east/west? Does each team play every team with their respective division? How are games played against the opposite division? SEC you must play every team each year within your division east vs west. You play one opponent from the other side as an every year opponent.....ie LSU vs Fla.......Ala vs Tenn.........Auburn vs Georgia.........obviously some teams have a touher every year opponent than say Miss St vs Vandy..........the other opponents rotate two at time on and off the schedule......the SEC has what is known as a 5 (your div) 1 (your permanent) 2 (the rotators).........schedule. Just wondering what the Big 10 does.

Not sure what the plans are for 2013 when A&M joins and makes one division 7 teams or should we add another team to make 14.

Another big week of college football..........and I can honestly say I miss Ohio State, USC, Miami and a few others not being a factor and having their misguided fans chime in with comments, lol.

LSU #1 vs Florida # 17 + 13.5..........after the shellacking the Tide gave them last week those Gators have got to feeling sore.......lets hope they are a step slow this week in Tiger Stadium after getting pounded on for 60 minutes last Saturday..........Brantley is gone for the game and if the Gators hope to have a chance they MUST be able to run the football. If they have to live by the pass it will be a long afternoon on the bayou......give the points

ALABAMA #2 vs Vanderbilt +29.........love to think the Commodores have arrived and can hang but doubt it seriously......another romp and waiting on November 5

OKLAHOMA #3 vs TEXAS # 11........+10........its been awhile since the Sooners won back to back.......the Longhorns are hot to prove they can play..........I like the Horns and the points.......their hoping the Sooners eat too many fried Twinkies before the game

OSU # 5 vs Kansas.......+31.........KU cannot spell defense and defense is needed badly win playing the Cowboys.........this could be very very ugly before its over.........rock, chalk, Jayhawk is needed desperately..........give the points

    STANFORD # 6 vs Colorado......+ 29.........welcome to the Pac 12..........Luck lights them up...the Cards

BOISE STATE # 7 vs Fresno State...+ 21........maybe there will be a Bowman siting at the game......lurking in the shadows as a pseudo fan.........his othe team will be hammered this weekend also......Broncos roll

OREGON # 8 vs Cal........+24.........ahhhhhh the Ducks have long memories........low yardage, low points for the season last year in lovely liberal Berkley..........actually the warm spot in Bowmans heart......like the OSU game it could be ugly by the end

CLEMSON # 9 vs Boston College.....+ 21........sorry Captain K, sorry Jim F.........the Catholic boys are falling faster than a one egg puddin in Denver..........don't make plans for the post season

GA TECH # 11 vs Maryland...+ 14..........not sure whatever combinations of the worse uniforms in the country the turtles wear will be enough to slow down the hottest high octane offense in college football....the Rambling Wreck will roll

MICHGIAN # 12 VS Northwestern + 7.5..........long time since I was prognosticating about the Wolverines......anyone seen Rich R in Ann Arbor lately........first road game of the year for Michigan and never know how a team travels.........Wildcats could keep it close at home

ARKANSAS # 13 vs AUBURN # 14 +10............ two teams without a defensive identity.........both can move the football but slowing the other guy down is not in their playbooks........and the Tigers won a national championship on D not on Cams O..............I like the points in a shootout

NEBRASKA # 15 VS the Ohio State U........+ 11........is the the second time this year the Bucks were double digit dogs..............hurry back..........football misses u........scrap the tattoos and lets play some football again............first time in Lincoln so should be an experience.......lots of red in the area this weekend.......no clue really but will pick the Huskers to show some gonads and bounce back from that butt kicking last weekend

Nine and two against the spread.........a good weekend. No major upsets......the only real flub was Texas getting pounded by the Sooners. The only time it was a game was before they kicked off..........the Longhorns, another pretender that should be grateful for the Longhorn network.........maybe it will help them recruit some players.

I really hope this was a wake up game for the Huskers. After showing nothing in the first half, the O and the D looked much better in the second half. Did help that OSU's qb went out, but still, they showed some pride and came back to win a game they really needed.

    Screw college football!

I'm glad there are high school band competitions to attend this October, otherwise the dog would getting his butt kicked so much, I would have bite marks on my leg.

And pro football sucks too, (no fantasy league this year, so no reason to watch it.)

Coastal, it is due to Florida State's total collapse, I'm surprised DMac, hasn't responded to that yet. He must be busy working on Week 7 top 15.

How can a team hold Oklahoma to a couple of big plays and that score, then let Clemson just run over them, well I thought it was Clemson is a good team, and still do, but to lose to Wake Forest? Maybe the Big 12 isn't so good? Yea Oklahoma runs it up on Texas, but former Big 12 Nebraska squeaks one out past Ohio State, who lost to Miami, Maybe the ACC is a better conference next to the SEC? Not the Big 12, or Big 10? Except for Wisconsin, who has a former ACC QB.

Just venting, but glad we do have high school band action to watch as my son is a freshman in band this year. They came in 7th two weeks ago at the Renegade Revue in Tulsa (Union HS). Came back and was 5th this week at Broken Arrow Invitational OK this week. Some impressive bands out there. Van Buren Arkansas has come in 2nd the last two weeks with a nice show. Cowtique OK has a fun show to watch, they were 3rd two weeks ago, we beat them this week. Webb City MO has a good show, beat us two weeks ago as well, but we got them this week. Don't know how we lost to Stillwater? We did beat either Blue Valley or Blue Valley West out of Overland Park? Two weeks ago Owassa just outside of Tulsa won, this week it was Blue Springs MO. Maybe I should have a top ten band poll every week?

    Sure is entertaining.
The one thing that gets me is that the B.C.S. does not account for Hollywood intervention and human beings that can critically think which then leads to behavior modifications. Been a football coach in the past (6 years with the developmental little guy leagues). At that age players had there own wheels spinning and intentions that they were working through.

Old school religions have even kept up with the times and made modifications. The B.C.S. is a dinosaur (A Good One) that needs to step up and reformulate.

For crying out loud Golf has made some controversial decisions in last few decades that deal with modern playing abilities.

Love watching players develop into professionals in most sports and team play has many lessons to be learned. Like to say I am the sports fan, however we have many individuals that eat sleep and breath sports. I am not going to lose any hair over the subject but just seems that there has to be a better way to keep the fans of college football competitively informed about how teams are rated.

That's the total beauty of college football. In any given year there can be debate long after the season is off as to who should be the national champion. Some years it's clear cut, some years its not. Long after the Super Bowl champ is crowned there is arguement over who shoulda, woulda, coulda won the BCS title. It keeps your interest through siging day and then its time for football again.

Got to love those commercials. They make me laugh so hard.

Anyhow, there are many kids headed to school today in hopes of playing college football (lots of effort involved from parents, coaches and themselves). Builds character ha!
