The reels would not shut off when the operator raised them. Now they wont lower back down. Reels are spinning stuck in the raised position. I'm sure it is a valve but I am open to any other suggestions before I tear into the valve bank.

    Thanks,

Check the 2 micro switches under the joy stick, I also have a supplier for them to save money.

Agree, check the switches on the joystick. Shut the unit down and work the lever; you can usually feel and hear a notable "click" in each movement. Toro has an updated switch that has a rubber boot to keep sand and debris out of the moving mechanism.

    Greg,

I can hear a click but don't feel one. It doesnt take much movement before I hear the click.

Doesnt take much to pull it apart and check then. A lot of times you can actually see the intruder...

I 've had the same problem before its either sand or dirt stuck in the plungers in the valve bank or it's a relay in the control panel. They are under the throttle and choke levers. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all of the help. It was a faulty K3 Joystick relay under the control panel.

When mowing this week my reels decided they didn't want to raise anymore. Shut the mower down for about 20 minutes and the reels will raise again. I tried to mow a couple of greens and the same problem happened again. The mower sat again for 20 min then the reels raised again. Called Toro swapped out raise relay switch with another one. Same problem , mows for a while then the reels won't raise. The battery is brand new. So I've done everything Toro told me to do. Is this a soleniod problem. Any help would be appreciated ...

Could the lower relay be sticking? We usually replace both when problems begin.

Check the voltage while it is running, it should read 12-14V. We had a similar problem there was not enough voltage to raise the reels. We replaced the alternator and voltage regulator to correct this problem.
