Hello all, I took over a course back in September that has been in this program since 2002 when they rebuilt the course. my problem is that I recently found out we were actually still in the program but the past Superintendent had not been doing reports. They now want to do a site survey this year and need a report.

Here is my problem,  there are no records of this last years Chemical applications from before I took over. no documentation that I can use towards doing a report. Budgets have been cut back like elsewhere and then in April Covid-19 took all but two workers from me and that left us taking care of the 80 acres of golf course and 100 acres of park. I have no idea how to build a report without any past things documented and no idea where we are heading.

Can anyone shed some light on what I should tell them to restart the program from scratch and not being able to meet some of their goals.

I would think that the Audubon would have a copy of your last certification.  I have gone through one re-certification, but  member did most of the work for us.  It did not seem like there was too much new information added to the process by me.

In the long run, it may be easier to start from scratch next year, than figure out everything you don't know about.  The program also seems like it benefits your membership than the grounds staff...are there any members that are willing to take the lead?  We would not be certified without member support.

    good luck,
    Alden

Audubon can provide you with all past documentation. I'm in the same boat and they offered documentation although I found all of it dating back to the 90's, we were the first course certified in Illinois and 3rd in the country I think.
They try to make everything as easy as possible, they are truly their to serve you, and help advance our environmentally friendly existence.
