It's probably been out about 5 years now Stephen. An OSU release, supposedly ideal for the transition zone, hence the name.(UMD is at 39 degrees latitude). A bunch of range tees in the DC area have been sodded, I know of 3 courses that sprigged fairways. Seems to be a good choice, good winter hardiness, maybe less spring deadspot. Our athletics field manager thinks it had a bit less wear tolerance than a previous variety called Patriot. On our soccer field he went back to Patriot in goal areas. (NCAA champion Terps!) There is another variety right around the corner called OKC1131 in the NTEP trials. I think it will be called Tahoma 31. Everyone thinks it will be the next great cold hardy bermudagrass. Steve I am the Superintendent at Makefield Highlands Golf Club in Yardley, PA. We sodded our Range tee about 3 years ago with it. We have had great success with it here. We bought from Maryland at the time. I recently heard that Tuckahoo Turf Farm in NJ is also growing a variety of bermudagrass. It is not Latitude 36, but they say they are happy with it. We cover ours in the winter. I would advise doing that. Otherwise I'm very happy with it.

We have a full course of it. Fairways, rough, approaches.....Sprigged 3 years ago. Our neighbor course and us were the first L36 courses in FL-sprigged on the same week.

Before I retired we sodded the new range faiyway with Latitude 36 in 2015.Latitude is great except it gets Dollar Spot from time to time pretty bad. Northbridge was released out of Oklahoma State at the same time they released Latitude. I played some fairways in Kentucky last week that had Northbridge. It seemed just as good as Latitude or 419 and does not get Dollar Spot or at least not much.

I would agree, especially here in FL. We have sprayed fairways for dollar & leaf spot several times over the last 3 years.

We've had L36 on our fwys at the Fox Run course for 6 years now, sprigged in.  Down fall was that after the first winter, which was pretty cold/harsh, we lost about 70% of it due to winter kill.  Had specialist out to see what we could do, was told due to that winter, it didn't matter if you were 1 year in or 10 years in, nothing we could have done.  We changed up our fertilizer program and started spraying more foliar/primo to help spread what survived.  Happy to say that after 5 years, we are back to having 80% coverage on the fwys.  Never had any major issues with spring dead spot & only see the dollar spot in our overseeded areas of annual rye.  I'm happy with it to say the least.

Can't speak on Latitude 36 Bermudagrass per se, but I can speak on Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass.  We're located in the upstate of South Carolina and have mainly 419 everywhere, but had some really significant issues around certain greens due to north facing slopes (winterkill) or shade.  We have sodded a little over 10,000 sq. ft. since early July around greens and on approaches and I have been extremely impressed with this variety.

It rooted within 3 days and was actually initiating new roots when we were taking it off the pallets as we were laying it.  The density of this grass far exceeds 419 and while we haven't gone through our first winter with it on the ground our sod grower seems to think we won't have many issues due to it's cold tolerance.  Our members also seem to really like this turf and have asked that we actually use it more often in other areas on the course and we are exploring the possibility of sprigging two range tees with it next summer.
