We systematically are doing the same thing here, and did this as well at the previous course I was at. We measure our lengths and widths on each side to make sure before we snap chalk lines or sod cut turf that dimensions are correct. We have an alignment stake drove into the middle of the fairway as well to align from the back of the tee to the middle of the fairway to verify things. Once we have our dimensions, we tie string around driven nails into proper parameters, paint, and either sod cut if necessary from encroachment into rough and resod, or scalp out bentgrass to where the proper dimensions were supposed to be. This is obviously for Cool season grasses. For Bermuda, tie string in proper dimensions, and either scalp out & topdress or bring back in if necessary.
