Does anyone know of any products out there that can be applied to Asphalt Cart Paths that will create "grip" on the path. I have several hundred feet of asphalt cart paths that are on some type of slope. Some slopes are more sever than others. We have been having issues with carts sliding on these paths when the paths become wet from irrigation and rain. Has anyone chip sealed their paths before? Would that help or make it worse?? I'm afraid if I use a petroleum based product it will just make the path slicker rather than stickier. We have also gone to slowing down the carts but still have issues when golfers apply the brakes and tires lock up.

    Thank you,

    Rick Wit

I'm checking on something, and will get back to you via email if that's ok, if I get an answer.

If you guys don't mind, I would like to know if you find something also. I have the same issues as you describe.

    Thanks,
    Doug

His response, I'm sure you've considered something similar... a link to the product he mentions is below.

    "Greg,
Sorry I missed your call. Called you this morning and left you a voice message.
For the asphalt golf cart paths, the only product we could recommend would be our Heavy Duty Asphalt Paving Sealer. To get more traction, you would need to mix sand with the HDAPS and then spread it, OR . . . spread the HDAPS by roller, squeegee, or brush, and then broadcast the sand into the HDAPS and then backroll to be sure the sand is embedded into the sealer and you get enough sand spread to give you the traction needed.
Don't know of any other ways to improve traction on these cart paths other than some sort of slurry seal mixed with an aggregate to make the paths rougher.
Have a nice weekend and sorry for the delay with this response.
    Mike"
