Toro Triplex Groomer attachment Cancel The title field is required!

   Just a question concerning the groomer attachment on the reels , We have had to replace too many of these over the last two years . The shaft is actually breaking on the left side . It has been the same for the three originals which were driven by a key way as well as the three "upgraded" replacements wich are spline driven Is anyone else having this problem ? Our local dealer tells me this is a rare occurrence and i am suspecting that we can't be the only club experiencing this Thank you

   If your mower is less then 2 years old it should be under warranty!
   
   We have a Triplex that just made 2 years old and have not had this problem with it yet!
   
   I am betting that if you place this on the Shop board one of those experts can help diagnose the issue. Either the groomers are made weak from the plant or there is stress being applied to it which is causing it to break. I was just raising mine up Tuesday and did not really see where there can be stress applied that could break the shaft. It looked like it was only adjustable up and down but from two points. even if it was set deeper at one end it did not look like it could be placed in a bind.
   
   I am betting that there was a bad batch of metal used which is causing this problem. I seem to remember running across a different issue earlier this year where that was the case. Went through three parts before they admitted they had recieved a bad batch of metal and was still trying to clean out the bad parts from their parts bins.
