One of our clubs is going through a tee time policy change. We are currently at two tee times per person and want to switch it to one tee time per person at the first of the year. This is mainly because our members make twotee times, then only show up with three or four people. In October, we had over 340 no-shows during the month and would like to curb this. So, how many tee times do you allow your members to make, or is there a policy in place that says they have to have the names of the players if they are making more than one, or similar?

Where we are at here, there is no policy, we will block off 4 tee times for a senor group and a couple of others but we're not busy enough or hurt enough to worry about it, of course we don't have people making multiple tee times.

When I worked for Bergen County NJ, our policy for a no-show was $1.50 per tee time. If someone made a tee time for a foursome they were charged $6.00 and taken out of the computerized tee time system until they paid. If they showed up with less then their tee time, say made a foursome and only came with two, we didn't charge them but we did take two people off the stand by board to pair up with them.

The computerized tee time system didn't allow the person to make multiple tee times during one day, if they wanted a better tee time they would have to cancel the one they had then make a new one, I think they could do that in one call, but I'm not sure. I had one friend that would make a tee time with his id card, then use his wife's if he found a better time. Once he did that he cancelled his other time and would then search for a better one using his card id number. Groups of 4 would all call to get a tee time, once they found out who got the one they wanted, the others called back and released their times back into the system.

Don't think I helped you out Andy, but that is how we did it.

We had that same problem as well. Most of the time it was a member who didnt want to play with anyone else and didnt want to be paired up, so they would book a tee time for 4 persons and just show up alone. We started charging $25 per person for no shows, and the no show numbers have dropped DRASTICALLY.
