I have been trying to make our public, smaller budgeted, Northern new england, old poa/bent clayey soil fairways more dense over the last 3 years by aerifiy in september 3x3 spacing 3/4"tine, liming to keep ph normal level, 3# of n per season, mowing at .500 with lf3800, and keeping moisture levels adequate. Last year I just started to use primo on them just did one app in the spring seem to work good but need to apply more apps this year.
Looking to over seed this year and trying to find a good source of literature and research before i pick a few to do a trial and final selection. Already looking into some of the turf schools websites.
Open to all comments, suggestions, tips. Thank you

old school says it all stick to penncross inexpensive and easily available. It will also stick up to your public budget and play.

Also if you are liming to change ph, that is the wrong approach. If you want to change the ph of your soil, you need to change the ph of your irrigation water or else you are just throwing money away

penn trio would be another option, giving you 3 different bents at a similar price to penncross alone.
