Anybody else having problems with the pressure gage not working? We're constantly having to purge air bubbles out of the pressure line to get the gage to work properly. We've replaced all of the parts a few times and still don't have a reliable pressure reading. There is one other course in our area having the same problems with their HD200. Other than us, JD says they have not heard of this issue anywhere else, which I find hard to believe. If you have had similar problems, have you been able to remedy them?

Two HD 300 and two HD 200. Problems with pressure gauges started after 3 years and is almost every spray temporary fix these days. Hear that a permanent fix is in the works and may be out this winter. Otherwise a rugged and dependable sprayer.

We installed a secondary gauge at the rear facing forward. Funny because ever since we did that we have had Zero issues with the dash mounted gauge.

Our gauge is mounted at the rear of the sprayer, and quit working soon after we got it. We took out some little brass "check valve" looking thing and it's worked fine since.

Isn't it funny how no matter your problem it is always the first time they have ever heard of it?

We just purchased a new JD HD300 this year with the auto rate controller. When we punched in our desired output the controller tells you the pressure that the sprayer should be operating at to give you your desired output. When we would operate the sprayer the pressure would never match up with what the autorate controller said that it needed to and thus our output was never correct. After a very long and drawn out debate with just about everyone who knows anything about the JD sprayer it was the new style of flowmeter that they have on the newer sprayer. Our JD tech ordered one of the new style flowmeters and one of the older model flowmeters. When we switched out the flowmeter with the same style we had the same problem. When we used the older style the pressure matched up perfect, and after calibration our rates were working out perfectly. Not sure if that might be your problem but its something else to check.

Yep same here. Never works when you get on to go. Always have to purge the line.

Had 2 HD200s at my last course. One always had pressure gauge issues, one always worked flawlessly. Go figure...

I have had Deere sprayrigs on the pro gator since 2001. Have been on a total of five at different facilities. All have issues with that meter. They are well aware as under warranty they love to send their guy to purge the line. The rule of thumb is to find a nozzle you like for all applications I like the Turbo Floodjet 7.5. Set your pressure, then never touch the switch again. The guage can fail but you know where that psi is as long as nobody touches the switch.

Some purges lasted longer than others, and some sprayers had less of a recurrence of the guage problem.

But IMHO still the best sprayer around, as guage doesn't prevent use, whereas other rigs i have had showed nuances that would put it in the shop with a half -full mixed tank.

We have 2 HD200s, one is a 2002 and the other is a 2007. The 2002 may need to be purged once or twice a year, and the 2007 needs to be purged after almost every tank. I have replaced almost everything and it gets better for a short amount of time, but goes back to no pressure at the gauge. It has been working better lately since we got rid of the metal isolator on the back of the sprayer and replaced it with one of the old black plastic ones. A friend of mine on a farm told me to try replacing the little white adapters for the tube from the isolator to the gauge with brass fittings. That is going to be my winter project, I plan on replacing the adapters and the tube from front to back. Good luck.

When I was a spray tech I used a JD 200. The guage would stop working occasionally. The equipment manager would use a large syringe and put RV Fluid in the line. This usually fixed the problem. Hope that helps

Same problem here. Interesting to hear so many others with the same problem. Maybe this will get JD to get a solution to us sooner.

Has anybody tried doing away with the hydraulic pressure gage and replacing it with an electric pressure transducer? Basically switching from anologue to digital. Our problem always seems to originate from the isolator, and I don't think a transducer requires one. At this point, we've been reduced to establishing the desired pressure by removing one of the nozzles off the boom and connecting a pressure gage in its place. We then check and adjust pressure before adding product to the tank. You would think that the next time you go to use the sparayer that the pressure would remain the same (provided that nobody touched the pressure adjustment switch), but its not. We have to check and adjust every time we go out and spray. We pay a lot of money for these spray units, and its irritating that we have to spend the time to get the pressure adjusted right every time we spray. Seems like such a simple thing as a gage should work properly all of the time.
