I was wondering if anyone was using the core hog's from Par Aide? I plan on increasing my aeration practices to 3-4 times a year. We are currently shoveling, but have 2 Toro 1000 that aren't worth using as mowers and these might be great to dedicate to these machines. Do they clean up as good or better than a shovel? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have one core hog that can pretty much keep up with the procore. I found that instead of having 4 people using shovels I now have one person with the hog and one person with a backpack blower clearing the few left overs. The nice thing is you are rolling the green as you clean. For what it costs its worth a try, might not suit everybody.

I built one last year for our walk mower when we were in a pinch. That thing worked fantastic. I have no doubt that if you were willing to spend more than the $30 or so dollars I have into mine, that the Core Hog would work with similar results.

I built 2 a few years ago. I can't see where you can go wrong in having a couple. I love being able to pick up the cores off the fringe instead of driving over the green again and again. Easy to build your own too.

We got our first Core Hog years ago from the original builder who was from Arkansas I think. It worked like a dream and I loan it out to two or three guys each year. Original has a nice suspension that keeps the blade running smoothly on the green. When Par Aide bought him out they changed to the present design which is much simpler and I assume cheaper. I bought a new one and it's OK, but nowhere near as good as the old style. I have a core processor and a procore sweeper but the Core Hog plus a couple of guys at either end loading is better than having tire marks all over your greens. We can clean cores as fast as Jakes and now Toro aerator can make them.

Good video. I like the golfers in the fairway trying to play through.

Thanks for all your input! I will invest in a couple of them this spring.

    Andrew,

If you have a procore, try looking into the turfpride attachment for it.It does the same thing and you could put the extra guy on something else.
