Lots of talk about A&M going to the SEC, and then others joining, like FSU, Clemson, and Missouri. What does everyone else think about this? Seems Texas is being talked about as the scapgoat.

The only benefit I see from it is maybe Florida State ends up in Columbia every few years. Otherwise, I'm not in favor of FSU leaving the ACC, unless it's just a big conference blow-up and realignment geographically of all conferences. And being a big traditionalist, I'm not in favor of that either.

Whatever happens, the teams coming to the SEC will have to start playing some real ball. This ain't high school no mo. The SEC dominates every year and their teams go undefeated until they start playing each other. If the Aggies want to step up, bring it on!

SEC presidents voted yesterday not to expand. That's not to say something will not change in a day, a week, a month. The college conference landscape right now is very fluid. Texas brought it own themselves when they cut their deal with ESPN for their own network for $30 million over 20 years. Puts all other Texas schools at a big disadvantage. A dog eat dog world out there now.
Personally it would hurt LSU recruiting in Houston and SE Texas if A&M came into the SEC. Playing in the SEC is a big draw versus what's left of the Big 12............if they join then no reason to leave home to play at LSU as they will be a member. But like Andy says........come on aboard......we have had a long time rivilary with A&M for decades and decades........and for FSU.......the water woould get a lot deeper in the SEC vs the ACC

Yea, it's a moot point at the moment, I guess it's back to politics?

Hey now, there's already one maroon and white ag school formerly coached by Jackie Sherill in the SEC. We don't need another. Kind of hard to expand when there's already two divisions and a championship game. No doubt there is a lot of anger about the longhorns' TV deal and there will be ramifications, but I think the SEC is full.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Texas wound having to go independent due to their arrogance and greed? The group I can't figure out is Oklahoma. They seem to have their lips fused to the hind teat of the whorns, and being a steer there is only one teat...

    "One teat..."

Reminds me of a guy from New York that was working down in Snyder Texas in the early 80's. We were working for a chlorine and ammonia company. I was just working to get some spending money while still in high school. I have no clue why he moved to Snyder. Anyway the company was out in the country somewhat so a field with a barbed wire fence surrounded it. We often saw cattle near the area where we worked. One day this guy ask "I understand what is hanging between his back legs but what is that hanging from his belly?" I told him to go pull on it and find out if it means anything. After explaining what it was he could not believe it. He also had that odd thought that all cattle with horns were bulls. Unbelievable but funny and it did happen.

Texas A&M made it official yesterday by informing the Big 12/10 office they were seeking another conference affiliation............primarily due to the Texas U network.

Good for them. The SEC should push hard for Oklahoma now.
