I turned on the TV last night for the first time in months and fell asleep. When I woke up I could swear I saw a commercial showing a poor family thanking Hugo Chavez and the Venezuelan government for being the only ones to offer assistance for their home heating oil needs.
I was watching Seinfeld around 11pm on a station out of NYC. I may have woken up to a SNL skit...anyone else seen this?

    Hey Larry,

When I was living in Florida several years ago the 7 Eleven´s had Citgo from Hugo. They started boycotting them because Hugo was saying the US is the devil. At that time , he was doing things for the poor in Venezuela with heavily subsidized prices. I like the US is the devil bit but I have heard from many people who have lived and worked in Venezuela that Hugo has made life very difficult for many of his people.

    Saludos MR

This was copied and pasted from wikapedia:

"Citgo launched a national ad campaign in the fall of 2006 emphasizing the company's corporate social responsibility.[17] National television ads featuring Joe Kennedy also aired through February 2007 featuring ordinary Americans thanking Citgo and Venezuela for providing discounted heating oil to low-income people".

"Citgo Petroleum Corporation (or Citgo) is a United States–incorporated, Venezuela-owned refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of Venezuela. The company has its headquarters in the Energy Corridor area of Houston, Texas"

1-877-Joe-4-Oil. How can the Kennedy name be associated with this? DMAC would be all over this one. Maybe they will fill our tennis bubble tank, $800 last week alone. Kenneth Ingram, UMD.
