Has anyone else had issues with their delinium tipped tines not lasting?

I noticed that my last two batches did not make 18 holes, when I use to get 2-21/2 aerifications out of them! is it just me or is this the normal. What other companies are there out there that sells tines?

Toro Titan Max Tines. Went 20 greens, and then sent them out to the rest of the golf course to spot aerify on clay. Have replaced 2 for broken tips so far, but the tines are no where near ready to be replaced other than that.

Not a problem on our end using JRM tines. 1/2" tines went 36 greens and once around on tees. I've used both Toro and JRM and find them both to be of great quality. Regards,

No problems with our JRM Delinium tines. 36 holes plus.

I do not know why my tines are not lasting. although we are going about 4"-6" deep I cannot believe that would be the total reason. My greens consist of a 90-10 mix with no clay and we rarely get into the collars with them. I know in the past we would get two rounds out of them before having to replace them.

Have you checked the timing on the aerator? If the timing is incorrect, there will be wear on the side walls of the tine and tine will fail prematurely. We usually get 2-2 1/2 full 18 hole aerations out of our dillennium tines.

I have a 48" soil reliever which does not have timing set up on it as far as I can tell. It has what I would say is a solid crankshaft setup that moves the arms and even slack in the chaines will not change how the arms go up and down on it. My old GA-30 however had timing on it. it is basically a solid unit but I know something is not perfect on it due to some tufts I get on the second arm from the left. It had been a demo unit before I got it and has done the same thing every time we have used it.

Maybe I got a bad set of tines the last time I bought them. I know when we first got the machine it would get 36 holes on the tines from JRM. I am getting ready to try a new set from them so we'll see what happens.
