First, let me apologize for the lengthy post but I am looking for feedback and help in dealing with EZGO on this issue.
I would like to know if anyone with an EZGO RXV(ours are 2009 and we own them) fleet has had any of the below mentioned issues that we have had:

The rear bumpers were too brittle, shattered after a light bump, and had to be replaced. Our golf season runs approximately 44 weeks a year. Almost three years in and I can think of maybe 3 weeks without at least 3 or 4 cart breakdowns per week. These carts will run a few holes and either not run after stopping, or lose power while running, then locking the rear wheels. Our maintenance department had to fabricate a fixture to lift the rear of the cart with our tractor, to tow the cart in because the rear wheels were frozen. Some of our customers asked how many holes they will play before they have to call for another cart. Most all carts have been repaired numerous times. Carts 5, 21, 27, and 71 have honestly been broken down more often than not for the entire time that we have owned them!!!
We were told the problems might lay in the charger receptacles. It may be the program-port plug, or the brake sensor, throttle sensor, solenoid. The whole fleet has been reprogrammed, we replaced the D/C cord on all chargers, we replaced the D/C cord receptacle, and we currently are replacing all 72 accelerator assemblies. We continue to have problems after all of this.

We have had this fleet of carts for 2 1/2 years now(still under warranty) and we have had nothing but one problem after another. Even though our carts have been under warranty, the response to our issues has been below satisfactory. The EZGO service reps have shown up, but when they do come they can't always fix the problems because of a lack of parts. Then we never know when they will be back. There is never a time when we do not have anywhere from 2-5 carts broke down. We have had so many problems that I can't believe there has not been a post here yet.
I have even called EZGO directly and cannot get anyone to call me back.
Does anyone else have a fleet of RXV carts with these constant issues? If so I would like to hear from you about what EZGO has done to improve the situation.

    Bob,

We currently have the RXV cart as well. Our issues stem from battery issues. We have a gps system on the carts and EZGO is pointing blame to the voltage usage by the gps system. The gps company says that its an EZGO/Trojan issue. We have had several sets of batteries replaced already and will have many more this winter as well I'm sure. When the battery voltage gets too low we too have the back tires lock up. Our pallet forks on our JD tractor work great to lift the cart and bring it back to the shop. So far we have not had bumpers break, however we wanted to purchase more sand bottles for our carts and were told that EZGO is no longer making that style of bottle....WTF!!!!!!!!

One issue we just came up with (although it is with club cars) on a few member owned Club Carts (48volt). Is that they installed a radio in the carts which caused battery problems. What we have found out is that when you connect a battery operated device (12volt) onto one battery you will have issues with all of your batteries.

This is caused when you connect to one battery the juice that is used from that one battery is never completely replaced when charging. the system charges the batteries as a whole unit so when the whole unit reaches full capacity the charger shuts off even though the one battery the 12 volt device has not completely recharged. it simply charge as long as the rest of the batteries needed to go back to peak capacity. after several round of this the one battery basically dies due to not being able to completely recharge. The solution for this is a power converter that converts the 48 volt system to 12 volts for the device. this way the juice is pulled from all batteries and not just one. Once they started using the converters the problems went away.

Make sure that any 12 volt devices is hooked up using a converter, even if it came that way from the manufacturer.

We have the RXV's and about 90 % of our issues are fixed by replacing corroded battery cables. Most of them occur on the battery in the very back of the cart. Good luck!

I hear you, I had 78 of those (2008) and it was a nightmare, I ended up getting a diagnose tool and the code manual (PDF) and did most of the troubleshooting and replacing of parts myself. Good luck...

Marcos I have 75 RXV carts and they are also from 2008. I have had great support from EZGO and seen every issue you can imagine. Email me at Killearnsuper@gmail.com we can talk a out some of the issues. I also have numerous diagnostic articles I could forward to you.

We're rolling out our 2008 models in another month and I simply can not wait, I'm with you guys on being a pain in the rear. I believe the new ones have all of the bugs fixed? I hope at least, I would say our main issues was also from bad battery cables (esp. The rear one), bad chargers, and the accelerator pedals sticking down a fraction and draining a battery very quick or will not allow the cart to do anything.

On the brakes locking up, we learned a trick to tow in, snap out the pins on the tow/run plastic plate and turn upside down, you have two connectors 1 goes to 2 and 3 goes to 4, unplug and switch them, you will hear brake release and will be able to be towed in. If it doesn't work take the brake motor off. If the batteries drain down below 32 volts, the charger will not charge overnight, we usually have to charge each battery to get it over that level, but this also causes the brake to lock.

Out of curiosity, has anyone noticed the pedal sticking and not allowing the cart to do anything? We had to bring all of them in for winter service and there was not much we could do because of design, but it's a problem we have and puts PB blaster to good use.

Thankfully we have a great EzGo dealership here and can walk us through a lot of the issues.
