I just bought a new JD 2500E. I love the 2500E and have no mechanical or electrical problems with them. My concern is the new style of cutting unit. It seems pretty cool how to adjust cutting heights. No locking nut required. One problem i did come across is the bar connecting the two height adjusters. Everytime a set the height one side is always .005 higher then the other. I removed the connecting rod and now adjust each side idividually so problem solved. I was just wondering if other guys have com across this.

Yes, the speed link will get you very close, and sometimes spot on, but it is common for it to be slightly off. Make sure your nuts on the shaft where the speed link connects to are adjust up just enough "snug" that your drill can spin the link drive. This will eliminate some of the side to side movement. All in all very good units!!
