I am looking for pros and cons on each product. Rates, frequency, results, etc.

I am looking to apply on 20 year old USGA greens with severe slopes and black layer in low areas.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I myself am a huge fleet fan. I have been using it since it came out. I have a problem with black layer myself due to how the greens were built. I have tried every wetting agent known to man and the flexibility, results, and price point is how I made my selection. I started with the 8 oz. rate with 1 oz of syringe. I am currently rotating from 4.5 oz and 1 oz monthly in the spring and fall and the summer since I am on an ultradwarf and topdressing every week I have gone to 2.25 oz and 1 oz biweekly which gives me more control. I also like the fact that I can spray and water it in that night to really get it where I want it. Hope this helps

I did a little study with wetting agents a couple of years ago at UMD. I never did the write up. Numbers were all over the place. But we looked at 10 products, different rates, and different rates of irrigation afterward. Revolution gave much better dew suppression than Fleet as I recall. But Fleet is really not marketed for that, more of a penetrant and LDS cure. Fleet did not burn. Supt's around here really like Fleet, that's why we included it in the trial.
