We have overseeded our roughs with Tall Fescue/Ryegrass mix that has germinated about 2-3 weeks ago. But there are many broad leaf weeds also emerging (purslane and others) that I would like to control since mowing is not doing so. Most of the herbicides are not recommended for new seedlings. Does any body know any product that is safe for new turf? Thanks for your help.

You say you can not control it with mowing, but I would say if you have mowed these areas at least two times, spraying them now should not be an issue.

Check the label for Lontrel. I believe i used it at a grow-in on dwarf bluegrass at the two leaf stage. I think the label had a rate for seedling stage cool season grasses.

If you have no trees in a 2 mile radius, Imprelis should work :)

Funny you say Imprelis. I used that stuff when it was on the market and I loved it. I just didn't spray it within the drip line and was fine. Didn't lose not one tree! Labels
