Capt. Are you just trying to deflect any attention to that debacle up there in Foxboro? Thanks god there is college football, or I don't own a pro team, I would have left half the Chief team in Buffalo.

I wonder if Washington will be looking at receivers and I wonder if they wish they wouldn't have cut Gano as their place kicker? I think he had a better chance at making it from 63 yards.

    Mel & David;

I was rooting for Arizona. I could not believe they fumbled the ball with over a minute left. They should have put a knee down and punted when the clock got down to 3 seconds and the clock would have kept going and the Pats would have about 20 seconds left. Oh well, it turned out in my favor.

You see, I am in a elimination pool and 25 people were eliminated - thank you Arizona. Another person was eliminated when Mel's St. Louis team took care of Washington and yes someone took New Orleans. Me! I took Green Bay Thursday night.

Tell me David, is New Orleans worth taking this week - I am thinking about it!!!!

Capt. I'm not a Rams fan, but I can tell you take New Orleans they are playing the Chiefs in New Orleans. If the Saints lose to the hapless Chiefs (Heck even the Royals might be able to beat them) there done for the season anyway. Although David might know of any injuries and stuff that you might need to factor, but even I don't think it will be a game.

Big deal. It's the NFL. Go 9-7 or 8-8 or even 7-9 and make the playoffs. Weren't the Giants 9-7 last year? Regular season yawnfest.

Ron basically true of all professional sports. The regular season means very little anymore as more and more teams now qualify for the playoffs. If you get in you got a chance.

    David,

There are no points involved in our pool. I would take NO even. Is that a good pick?

After two weeks, the two best teams at the moment appear to be Atlanta and San Francisco. I am anxious to see how our Chargers stack up against Atlanta.

I was torn between Chicago and the Saints. I did pick the Saints and thought I had that win. Don't know what happened when I saw the score 24 to 16 and then 24 to 19. then 24 to 24. then ot - must have been a touchback and the a field goal. Oh well it was fun while it lasted..

Nobody saw that train wreck coming Captain..........does not look good for the Saints in the upcoming weeks with their schedule........hell they can;t even get a break from those pitiful replacment referees. The Packers got hosed last night.

David and I both had split weekends. My Chargers played a team that can score for the second time this season and of course they lost again. David's LSU got beat but my San Diego State Aztecs beat a poor Hawaii team. We both had a 500 weekend. Solid play by the Saints. The Chargers chose to play half of a game well but not so much the second half.

Yes the Saints finally won one.........and Brees broke a 52 yo record as well. Yes the Tigers fell flatter than a one egg pudding and things don't look any better with the old ball coach coming to town on Saturday. But I did have a great weekend wagering......actually my first really good one of the year.........been kind of muddling along until his past weekend.........only loss was USC to Utah on Thursday and then went on a 10 game roll picking Clemson, Ohio State, WVU, LaTech, ULL, florida, Miss State, Tulsa, ND and Boise State......nice payday today

How about the commissinor yesterday.........re-instated the penalities on the Saints players andd reduced those on the ex Saints players. A witch hunt with the Saints being the target for Goodell.

I heard this morning that more players are filing a law suit on him. I think the guy from the Vikings that he accused of telling his coach that Hargrove told him about the Bounty is the one and I know that Vilma is placing a second suit on him.

Scott Fujita has made it public what he thinks of the letter that Goodell sent him.

I know if I was Goodell I would not eat any food down here when or if he comes for the Super Bowl this year. Too many fans that hate him, so it would be more then likely he would get spit in his food at the very least.

    Sandy,

Hope the cruise is going well and you were in port when the Chargers played last night so you weren't tempted to jump overboard. Can't believe an NFL game can change around that quickly where Denver was getting trounced in the first half and then win by 11. I thought Rivers was going to avoid the poor interceptions this year but apparently that wasn't the case last night. Gonna be another interesting season in the AFC West and a long week for the Chargers.
