I have a JD 2500 B mower which has for lack of better description, "boiled" out hydraulic fluid from the filler cap of the auxillary tank. This has now happened twice in the last 25 hours of operation. After first time, I have changed hyd fluid, fillter, strainer etc. after which it seemed to operate fine for a week. Have called local Deere service dept. and there tech was going to do some research and call me back the next morning....(3 days ago). Any advice, help, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you may have a collapsed hydraulic line causing extreme pressure and restricting flow. Fluke makes and inferred imaging scope that is good for locating such things. Sorry I don't remember the model number but you can go to the Fluke instrument website and find one. I think they run about 800.00 bucks but worth it when looking for problems.

    Regards,

Thank you for your post Henry. I think you are correct and I hope I have fixed the issue...there is a small hose from main resevoir tank to the auxillary resevoir which seemed to collapse (at least I hope that was it!). Anyways, it mowed this a.m. without any issues so I will keep my fingers crossed...I manage to keep my equipment running and cutting well but when something far out of the ordinary comes up, then I am like most Superintendents and have absolutely no idea!!! Thank you again
