We were having a discussion today about new equipment and we were thinking about adding a tractor mount of pull type fertilizer spreader.

I have only used Lely and Vicon and have found them quite accurate, even with me in the tractor seat. Was told about spreaders made by Landpride, anyone have experience with them?

    Thanks!!

I personally prefer my Lely. I can get parts from a local vendor that normally has them in stock. I've had them for years with no issues. I have the Type L 1500 and it allows me to cover a lot of acreage very quickly. They also have a tow-behind model as well.

But if you want to get in the big-boy category, take a look at an Adams. Most of my fertilizer reps have the two-ton turf model that they loan out when they sell fert. Many have had them for many, many years. Something I'd like to come across if I ever find a good used one.

    Mel,
I had a land pride spreader in PA for years. Worked great, price was great, not as precise as a lely or vicon, but it worked great for what I needed.
