I have Poa coming up this fall in the fairways in Dormant Zoysia, Revolver at full rate no good this year, Dimension full fall rate no luck. Looking for new ideas? As I am is Japan I do have some chemical problems but any ideas you can come up with I will look at. I always get some but this year I have a number of Fairways that almost look good with green. First year revolver has not worked. Thanks for the help.

Our plan of attack on non-overseeded fairways is Monument and Barricade. We will also post in the rough with Simazine and Barricade as well. If this don't work, we're gonna spot treat with Kerb or Tranxit.

I second the Kerb. Just be careful around trees and non-target turf.

Monument (if available) works better than most herbicides in colder weather from my experience. Good luck.

Monument has worked pretty well on Poa in non-overseeded areas here. Prograss has worked well in overseeded bermuda - not sure how safe it is on Zoysia.

Also when you say DORMANT zoysia - I have heard of guys using roundup - If it is COMPLETELY DORMANT

Just out of curiousity, what was the air temp when you made the Revolver application? I've applied too early in the day with temps down and gotten almost zero response. Went back with warmer temps a couple weeks later and nailed it.

Can you get Specticle in Japan? If so, it's freakishly amazing on Poa at extremely low rates.

Is Specticle a post for Poa? I've only tried it as a pre-emergent and so far, so good.

We did a trial for Bayer a few springs ago and there was a patch of Poa in our dormant bermuda rough that I missed while spraying Round-UP. Specticle smoked the Poa faster than the Round-up did.

I have applied a mix of 1.5 qts/A Simazine and .75 lbs/A generic Barricade the past few years with great results. I usually apply in early December here in Va. The simazine action knocks out Poa and broadleaves postemergently (usually in 3-4 weeks) and the Barricade overlaps well into my spring pre-emerge application. Any skips or hard to reach areas are easily knocked out with RoundUp when the turf is fully dormant. The only downside is that it will run on you after a heavy rain and you must stay downslope of any cool-season turf. It is a excellent option that won't break the bank.

.32 oz/ A of Round Up in the middle of dormancy works well for us. Low spray volume, .75/1000. Meyer Zoysia
