8 and 4 against the spread last week...........not bad............lost by a half on the UT- Fla game and Michigan State fell flatter than a 1 egg pudding........I said upset special though I liked the Spartans............so sorry Mel the Noles are a year or two away yet........can compete in the ACC but not ready for prime time just yet but Jimbo will ge them there.......both QB's for State looked good though...........the win gave the Sooners a jump in my poll..........defense looked good..........Ala vs Ark and Texas A&M vs Okie State and LSU vs WVU are all biggies and can shake up the polls next week...........somethings got to give and should be more movement if underdogs prevail............as predicted the Middies played the Cocks very tough and deserved to win........the men of Troy did the same against the Hawgs...........they have NO defense, zip, nada, none.......the Tide could roll big numbers..........the team that continues to impress is OSU Cowboys and we should know how good after this week...........the Ducks averaging 62 a game since the opening season loss...........I hope they go undefeated as it will help the Tigers computer ratings later in the season

Side note..........Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC........big lift to the basketball strenght of the conference, so so as for as football teams.............adds the New York market which can't hurt for sure.

12? We are better then that 1 loss Oregon team and the way South Carolina struggled with Navy and they are in front of us too? Would have been nice to see EJ in the whole game, I think it would have made a difference when OU started the heavy blitzing in the 4th quarter. Trickett did ok coming in and injuries are part of the game.

At least we are in front of the Gators.

"oh yea for Gus........UT vs Florida..........Meyer owned Tenn but not so sure about the new guy...... I love taking the 9.5 and the Vols covering"

I should have known that was the kiss of death for UT. You're probably one of the folks cursing Dooley for going for 2 too early. Would have made the spread had he just kicked it. Oh well, our lack of depth on both lines showed, and it's a tragedy that Justin Hunter was injured on the first series. He's one of the most exciting young players in the country and now it looks like he's out for the season. Would have definitely made the spread or better had he played.

Mel, your team looked good. I'm sure they'll move up in the polls, but for now there are still too many "name" schools that are undefeated. Some really are that good, some might be there on name alone, and some are surely going to lose before it's all over.

Dave, your D is looking pretty good under Chavis. It is amazing to me after all that has happened, that so many UT fans still have horrible things to say about Fulmer and Chavis. I guess hindsight isn't always 20/20.

My mighty San Diego State Aztecs are 3-0 to start the season, having won two games they would have lost in the past. They will work hard to beat Michigan and spoil Brady Hokes meeting with his prior team. If we keep this success up, we will eventually make David's top 20 and it will have been earned. Eventually, we will have to play Boise State and something will have to give.

Mel.........the Noles are #11 in one poll and # 14 in the other...........12 ain't so bad........not sure I would agree with being better than the Ducks.

Gus.........sorry I killed the Vols with my pick.........will definitely pick them on October 15 since they'll be playing the Tigers......maybe lightning will strike twice...........did not watch much of the game but caught parts here and there............always have to many games to sweat to watch one in its entirety unless LSU

Yea Sandy Aztecs looking good early...........had them against Washington State as well.......bet them a lot last year, the first time this season but certainly not the last time..........they covered a lot of spreads last season.

Keep an eye on the Aztec's Ronnie Hillman. In spite of being only 190 pounds, he runs with some power. quickness and he is hard to hit straight on. I think he is the #2 rusher in the country so far. He will be a marked man in Michigan since Hoke knows him well. He is only a sophomore so we will at least have him one more year. He could end up in the Heisman hunt if he continues piling up great numbers. Faulk got cheated by the selection of Toretta many years ago. Maybe the Aztecs will get a second chance!

Gino had gaudy numbers and since he was at QB U he had it handed to him, and he wasn't the only one from there if I remember.

Sandy.............. Hillman is currently the #3 rated running back in a recent power rating I saw of positions.

Mel.........please don't kick the "U" while they are down........that is politically incorrect and Donna Shalala will have you ass for it.

Nobody has ever been jobbed out of the Heisman more than Tommie Frazier in 1995.

Who won it that year? Was the Andre Ware?

Just looked it up it was Eddie George. Ware won it in 89

Bad news for the Aztecs. Hillman will be eligible for the draft after this season. He had a transcript or grades issue and sat out a year after high school. He will be 3 years out of high school and therefore eligible for the draft. Unless the pros think he needs another year of seasoning and needs to get bigger, he will be gone.

Picks of the week.....on roll for the epecially the last two weeks.........market is down again today, giving you guys a sure thing here lol

OKLAHOMA #1 VS Missouri..+21.5..........Tigers have lost what 17 in a row in Norman.......the best chance Mizzou has is not to get on the bus.......lot of points but the Sooners know there are big games behind them this week and need to make an impression.....give the points

ALABAMA # 2 vs Arkansas # 14 + 12.......lot of points to give a ranked conference opponent.....but do not think the Hog defense can stop Alabama State, let alone the Crimson Tide.......give the points

LSU # 3 vs WVU # something + 5.5...........same idea as the comment above........the Ears have played one real team......ran off to a big lead and hung for dear life........this ain't turtles they playing this week but Tigers.......they may burn couches in Morgantown but may be some burnt Mountaineer at games end....my wife did not approve of this pick at all.....but give'um

WISCONSIN # 5 vs a directional school from the Dakotas......no line and thank goodness

OKLAHOMA STATE # 6 vs TEXAS A&M # 9 -4.............hard to bet against the Aggies at home but this witch is on my shoulder whispering, the Boys, the Boys ....... take the points.........I really like the Cowboys, think they are for real dispite their coach and hope I feel the same way Sunday morning.....

BOISE STATE # 7 vs Tulsa + 31.5..........wow Tulsa through this point in the season very well may have played the toughest scheudule in the nation..........take the Bronco's.....they have to run up points before the computer starts in 3 weeks

OREGON #8 vs Arizona +15.5.........tough road game for the Ducks, but they are rolling now and see no reason not to bet on them......give the points

VATECH # 10 vs Marshall + 20...........long time since the Hokies came to Huntington and it ws not a good trip....different time and team..........Hokies should roll

SOU CAROLINA #11 vs Vanderbilt + 16.........a hunch but Iike the Dores on the road......new coach has them belieiving in the black and gold.........just a hunch

FSU # 12 vs Clemson # something also.....-2..........I belive the Noles play a bit better defense than the guys from the plains of Alabama........think the Tigers might find it a bit tougher even with a banged up starting qb for FSU.......take the 2 points

NEBRASKA # 13 vs Wyoming +23.5.........wow a lot of points again.........think the Cowboys can cover....maybe lol

FLORIDA # 15 vs Kentucky + 19.5.........I really like the Gators this week....lot of points but the Mildcats are not exactly killing folks........even playing on the bluegrass.........but no miracles this year

Headed over the hill to the UW / Men of Corn game this evening. Super pumped as its the biggest home game in WYO's history. I think Nebraska has too much speed but if they put the ball on the ground the Pokes can make a game of it. They have a history of playing top teams tough. They actually had Neb down 21 - 14 at half during the 1994 National Championship season. If I recall they fumbled a punt late otherwise would have had a drive to win it all.

War Memorial is a small stadium. Something like 29,000 capacity so any seat is a great seat.

If the Corn get through this game it sets up a monster with Wiskey next week.
