We are looking for a better way than a knife for cutting around sprinkler heads. Has any one used the heavy-duty irrigation trimmer that is in the standard golf catalog? Like? dislike? Other things people use? Thanks for any input.

I have used the trimmer from Standard and Miltona and found neither to my liking. They trimmed okay but if you get behind which happens at our club the tool only cuts the edge and not the bottom so in most cases we still had to dig out the turf. I prefer a linoleum knife and just do them by hand.

We did have luck with the plastic power head weedeater attachments but they were messy and it did take some skill to drop the disk square on the sprinkler.

We use these. They work wonders. No worries if you get behind, they'll cut through anything....grass, the head, hydraulic tubing, wires....takes someone with half a brain to run it, but very quick and they last a long time.
