From time to time I will visit the Job Board & the one on Turfnet to see what is out there. While most listings match the experience/education w/salary there are a few that I wonder if the contact person really has an understanding of what we do & what value we have to the property. The industry is tight & jobs are hard to come by but just to slap a Supt title on a demanding job for little pay blows me away. I know every GC is different in conditions & finacials available but to have such a list of requirements/education/experience just doesnt make sense.
Dont get me wrong, Im not trying to single out any golf course but someone should have a good idea of what experienced help is worth to any golf course before they post their openings.

Yes I agree....On this sight ... I see quite a few that are just plain ridiculous....Then they'll prefer a super with a GCSAA membership and CGSC too. And how did we become subservient to the DOG? Just laughing really

Mike, I agree with you and also look at job openings. I like looking at the requirements, pay, and the area where the job is located and find it hard to believe sometimes. I'm not pointing out any course either and you never know what is all included with a particular job but I just sit and can't believe what I read sometimes.

You do not have to wonder - there are many who do not have an understanding of what we do. I think it is good that they so clearly display that. It's nice to know what you are getting into before any time is wasted.
