simple rain shelter plans needed Cancel The title field is required!

   Does anyone have any plans for a rain shelter? wooden 4 post open structure for carts and golfers to park or stand under. Just a gravel floor, shingled roof with gutters about 24' x 24'. I need to make two or have two made for under $20,000. Thanks!

   My knee jerk answer is contact a local metal building contractor. Sounds like a simple "car port" type structure. You could even rock or brick the uprights for a classier look. some metal buildings around here look pretty nice and the color options are plenty.

   Without getting into the legal side of it, Kerry is dead on. Let someone else engineer it and take the blame for when it collapses. Those two car metal car port things can look pretty good when a few extra bucks are spent dressing them up.

   Yes go with the carport, they'll come in way under your 20k budget. If you want to save a few more bucks, a very similar product is sold by horse corral manufacturers. Google 'loafing shed' or 'horse cover'.

   Please check into lightening potential and stability. If you build it they will come, any injury you could be held for liability.
