So, I'm watching yesterday to see how differently the setup and the play will be for the ladies. At one point, Michelle Wie was putting and my wife commented that she looked like " a giraffe trying to get a drink of water". From that point on, I couldn't watch any more without breaking down in a fit of snickering.

    Regards,

    Steve

Looked to me like they were teeing off from the fairway on some holes.

Might be worth a try. I'm playing tomorrow. I'm afraid I might not be able to stand back upright though.

I don't think I could get up from that stance either. It must be working though- she didn't three putt for the entire tournament. Hard to believe that Wie is only 24, seems like she's been around forever. Too bad the women's tour doesn't get much media attention, seems like there's some good energy there with a lot of up and coming american girls. Might help grow the game if they put them on tv more. Men's tour is a bit stale right now without Tiger.

I agree with you, the women are doing a much better job at reaching out via social media. TV is killing them right now, unless one has the golf channel, I saw Polo on my NBC channel Saturday and some Volkswagen rally on Sunday before the tournament, and I can't see how they would draw more viewers than the golf.

I did wonder and tweet that if Michelle's win could help with growing the women's game more and with growing the game in general? Like a mini Tiger effect? I think it is just a vast market really looking to explode if it would get a little push. I look at all the women college golfers and think if we could keep them engaged after their playing days somehow?

I will say if I tried putting like that I would be anchoring the putter because of my belly.

No video. But then again, I didn't try it, either. Would have left myself vulnerable.

Michelle Wie will give that posture up within two years, I'll predict, as her back will be killing her.

Yeah but did you wear shorts like her?

Thought about it as I knew it would be warm enough. We did play Stanford University Golf Course yesterday, and she did go to school there. I just didn't want the attention of members thinking the giraffe looking for a drink of water might be her.
