    Guys:

I am a young superintendent and was wondering some of the all time funniest golfer comments made to you?

Last week I had a guest on my putting green tell me that my greens where good except they were a tad bit slower up hill then down hill. I just had to walk away and laugh when he wasn't looking. What was he looking for? People have no clue what us supers go through on a daily basis. Let's here some others! Thanks.

I am old and jaded. If I wasn't working on an undeserved overpriced government pension I would have to say to him, "It's called gravity you idiot." Come to think of it, I'd say that anyway.

As an apprentice I had a worm issue on greens one morning. It was an exclusive private club and the putting green was not in great shape. A member was practicing on the 9th green when I came up to spray it. The superintendent was watching from a distance. I had time constraints. I told the member that I needed to spray the green. He said he would leave as soon as he putted his balls out. I said, as I was picking up his balls, "By that time you will be covered with insecticide and the irrigation will be on." My superintendent told me that I would not be able to do that as a superintendent. That was 30 years ago and one of the very few things he was wrong about.

True story, last Tuesday after spending all day aerating greens, tees, fairways, roughs on front 9, went to drag putting green and noticed golf cart parked on driving range tee.

Me: excuse me sir but we do not allow golf carts on driving range tee
Golfer: OK, where would you like me to park it
Me: Obviously on the cart path, we require all carts to remain on cart paths around tee and greens.
Golfer: OK, thank you. I have never played here before
Me: Have you ever played golf before.

Long story short, I offended him and he left after getting refund from golf pro.
