    So sad to hear of the passing of the King of Golf, Mr. Arnold Palmer. An Old Tom Morris recipient and well deserved. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times the last here at PGA West. I will remember it well they way he stopped and interacted with the staff. And later listening to he and Mr. Nicklaus talk. Arnie had the ability to make everyone feel at ease. R.I.P. I'm probably not in this profession without everything you did. It was an honor to meet you each and every time. How special a man you were. Last night our son sends me a text remembering when his plane flew right over our house as he was arriving to play in the Par 3 Challenge in northern Michigan.

    Jon;

    We hosted 7 senior golf classics and in 1983 Arnie was kind enough to sign the hood of our Parkmaster 9 fairway unit with all staff members surrounding the tractor. He really got a kick out of doing that (remember the Pennzoil commercials).

    And then we had a rain delay and he and slammin' Sam Sneed were busy showcasing their skills to the gallery while we squeegee'd the greens.

    I lost my idol yesterday. I never had the opportunity to meet him but patterned my swing like his. It's not particularly pretty but it still allows me in my late seventies to shoot my age or better most every time I play. Golf would not be what it is today without Arnold Palmer.

    We lost a class act and in my opinion the greatest person that ever happened for the game of golf yesterday. I had the honor to caddy at Bay Hill for several months right after college and he was a class act every day when he interacted with the public. Never saw him say no to a photo or autograph and treated everyone like you were his long time friend. Got to speak with him on several occasions over my career and always was in awe of how down to earth he was. Truly a great loss for the entire golfing world.
