There are several golf courses at the Lake of the Ozarks in MO. My question is to anyone who has experience out there. I was curious to the cost of living, superintendents association, and the availability of jobs in that area. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Charlie B.

My uncle lives in Camdenton on the Lake. I know he is a member somewhere, but not sure where. I'm sure population centers like Camdenton or Osage Beach will have many more opportunities.

    Charlie,

I can't answer much about cost of living compared to South West Missouri, but I think certain areas close to the lakes it might be a little more expensive maybe comparable to the cities, but I wonder how it is getting out into the more rural areas around the lakes?

I don't hear about too many jobs, but maybe some of the sales people who call on the area could give you better insight.

As far as chapters, I know our chapter the Ozarks has members from the Lake area, but there are also members of the Heart and Mississippi Valley are represented. We usually hold at least one meeting in the Lake area and I know the Heart runs the Mo Cup at the Lakes where members of all those 3 chapters are invited.

If you have any other questions let me know, I'm the Sec/Treasurer of the Ozark chapter. The Missouri Turf and Ornamental Council also is a good group to belong too as well. I'm on that board too.

    Thanks, Mel

Mike, hopefully he is a member at Olde Kinderhook, great course, Lake Valley is in Camdenton too. When ever I go up to Columbia, Camdenton is a pit stop, especially when gas is cheaper then Springfield.

Also saw their band last week at Broken Arrow, didn't get to see their show as we were moving equipment for Kickapoo, but with the props they have looks like it would be a fun show.
