   I had a comment yesterday from a member that said he "hates putting on Bermuda greens and that we should look into Bentgrass like they have up north".

   When I was in Miami my boss was certain that we could maintain bentgrass there. In order to prove it he made arrangements for us to play PGA National in Palm Beach on the Monday after the PGA Championship which was held in the summer of that year (1988?). PGA National was trying to maintain bentgrass greens in South Florida. That was the year that when Lee Trevino was asked about the greens said, "You can't read dirt!" Johnny Miller would have been thrilled with the lack of grain and I actually had one of the best putting rounds of my life. They were bare, but they were smooth.

   6" of compacted dust does roll pretty good, I guess.
   We had member / guest week last week and I fixed 26 unrepaired ball marks on the front of one green. I finally just pulled all of the traffic signs, stakes and ropes because no one pays them any attention anyway.
   Do all Prius owners live in Massachusetts? Will a Prius only go 30?

    We have had a good winter, no turf problems, nice weather and lots of business, but I am sick of them. It's time for them to go back up north and beat hell out of somebody else's golf course.

    Most of Massachusetts in the 70s today - will be like that all week. Send our golfers back - many golf courses open. We don't worry about them driving in the passing or left lane at 30 M.P.H. we just pass them on the right and make an obscene gesture as we pass them. Other times, we just sneak up on them and push them along.
