But this race goes to the root of our problem, people are going to vote for him just because he is a republican. Also so many republicans tried to push him out of the race, and now they are backing him. Just goes to show that it is all partisan, not the candidate. I know it happens the other way as well.

Mel,
This race has always been about who the Independents are going to vote for. The process that Romney went through to get the GOP nomination benefited him last night. Obama will be sharper (he better be for your sake) in the next debate.
Several things that Romney said last night resonated with me, like not borrowing money from China to pay for OPB, and he made Obama look kind of foolish about complaining about Energy subsidies, when he handed out the equivalent of the 50 years of these subsidies to green energy companies in just a couple of years, many of which failed miserably. I thought both candidates do not have a handle on healthcare, but Romney made a good case of questioning the judgement of Obama creating a gigantic new costly program that looks like a job killer.
You know there is no question I am voting for Romney since he is the only Pro-Life candidate, but some of my friends and family on the fence seem to have started moving to Romney, one of my cousins who is a staunch Democrat even posted on FB that he was not satisfied with Obama and is now undecided.
