Story in our local newspaper today explaining why it seems to be the Midwest, due to a couple of refineries being closed for maintenance, one in Tulsa and another in Kansas, this has created a shortage in the Midwest, fuel usually heading to Missouri has been sent to Minnesota (also from TV news reports, a refinery in Indiana and Illinois had been closed).
I still don't know why it has affected the SW corner of the state unless it's the Tulsa refinery. Our high school band is in St. Louis and reports from there is gas is cheaper up there.
You would think they could plan this stuff better, maybe it's time to start regulating them again, heck we give them subsidies, and it has a big affect on the entire economy. My 401k isn't going to do me any good if I won't be able to afford to retire, I would take a little less profit to allow me to continue to invest or spend my extra income on things besides my gas tank.
