"Hey, I worked as chief greenskeeper for three years," countered Uncle Si. "I don't need wooden teeth to teach about George Washington."

    Sean,

Don't be shocked when Uncle Si wins the Old Tom Award in 2015.

    Doug,

I think Uncle Si is Capt. Kirk with a beard.

I actually think Uncle Si, Willie , Phil, or Jass, would be fun to have as a speaker at a GIS. They would certainly be better than a couple we had when I was on the board (Jimmy Johnson, Peter Ueberroth). They are golfers and they can be entertaining. The show is fun and silly with a "family and friends are important" theme. Nothing serious about it which is fine for a 1/2 hour of non sports or news TV a week.

I will leave the OTM to the present board but there seems to be lots of worthy candidates ahead of Uncle Si.

    That is entirely debatable...

Silas Robertson worked for me as a regular staff member in 1994-1995, he most certainly was not a "Head Greenskeeper". Truth be known everyone on the crew referred to him as "Psycho"!

    Kevin,

My daughter says if I screen shot your post and put it up on twitter and Facebook it would go viral.

    Game?

Never imagined he would someday be famous, pretty unremarkable guy except when he got the "wild eyes". His favorite saying back then was "Aw, piss on it boys!". Sure, why not I'm game.
