    Greetings;

    My daughter, Jen Kirkman has written a book called "I Can Barely Take Care Of Myself". She has made the New York Times Bestseller List. Jen now gets to have book jackets re-done that say "New York Times Best Selling Author..." This will be out May 5 in actual print. The book hit the stands last week.

    Jen is a comedian in LA and she writes for Chelsea Handler on the Chelsea Lately Show and she appears on the round table on Chelsea Lately about 3 times per month.

    Congratulations Cap't! I've been following Jen on Facebook for a few years now and try to catch her on Chelsea when I can. I'll keep an eye out for the book and give it a read!

    Thanks!

    Congrats Capt. and Congrats Jen!

    It has been fun following her on Facebook, do you know how her reading went the other night? I was wondering if Louie helped with the attendance?

    Thanks,
    Mel

    Mel;

    I don't know how her reading went the other night. If you are talking about the CA one, that went very well. Louie stayed home trying to finish reading the book.

    Jen is here in Boston and tomorrow, Friday, 04/26/13 She will be doing an interview with MSNBC at 3:30 P.M. Then off to Somerville, MA at Johnny Ds where she has a show and book signing. On Saturday she flies out of Boston at 8 A.M. going to NY for another show and book signing. My daughter Gail says Jen is on tour...

    Captain,

    I had a nice chat with Jen on Twitter (a short chat, 140 characters keep them that way) today. She posted a picture of the two of you. Glad to see you are up and at it again. Don't knock "the Twitter" everyone, its a great platform that's made the world a lot smaller. Have fun with Jen and stay well.

    Andrew;

    We went out to dinner this evening and Jen said she spoke with you on twitter and she posted a picture of us on it. I don't know anything about twitter. Ask Jen to post my picture right after surgery. All three of my daughters took pictures of me.

    Jen says I look tired so she is going to send her Limo to pick me and my wife up for the show tomorrow night. Actually, I am a little tired and it does take time to get these old bones moving again.

    Capt.,

    I've got a nickel I've saved for seems like six or seven years. I think I'll use it to help pay for a book.

    Capt,
    I saw your daughter on the Tonight Show last evening, sitting between Matt Lauer and Jay Leno. She had a few great stories about her fear of flying and not wanting kids. She was also hyping her book. She seems like quite a gal. Something for you to be really proud of.

    Thank You Richard,

    Yes, she was promoting her book. She was asked to write two more books. I guess Simon Schuster likes her writing. I have not read the book.

    Years ago, I took Jen into Boston Logan Airport weekly for Fear of Flying classes. It was put on by Delta and it was quite interesting. One lady loved to fly but she was terrified of flying over the ocean. There were two pilots (not passenger jet pilots) that got a little bit jittery once in a while. All in all it was a good class.

    Interesting that she and Jay Leno went to the same college - Emerson in Boston, MA. I think it was last year sometime my wife and I saw Jay Leno perform at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino in CT. We really enjoyed his show.

    Richard, I expect you to go out and buy the book now - " I can barely take care of myself".

    Thank you Lisa. Jen is still on a book tour. My fall was just about four months ago. Funny, I just got a bill for $50.00 today from the rehab center for TV and or phone. I called and they said the bill was a mistake because I did not order a phone or TV. I received a bill last week for $75.00 - my co-pay from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston for an X-RAY - a brain scan which I had in April and it took about 8 to 10 minutes. Hartford, the club's insurance company did not honor our policy of Workman's Compensation and the club will not honor my co-pay for the Neurologist, Neurosurgeon or my primary doctor for the last visits to all three doctors which totals $115.00 and add on the X- Ray = $190.00. The story is too long to get into right now.

    Anyhow, I am doing fine and feeling good. Hope things are going well for you up north. I see your still dealing with the Rain Gods. You can tell them to go away now. Wishing you a successful season.

    Cap't,
    If that is all you were charged for the tests, be thankful it wasn't for thousands more. BTW, with the brain scan, did they find anything??? :lol:

    Richard,

    No, they found nothing. Being an Alien we all know there is nothing up there. They are looking in the wrong place. The cat-scan was a little over $1400. My medicare paid about 80% of it and my blue cross blue shield paid the other portion about 20%.

    I was injured on the job. I emptied a little bit of rubbish in the dumpster - stubbed my toe and went down. My manager was two days late getting the information to HARTFORD INSURANCE which covers our Workman's Comp. Our insurance agent said the two days late did not make a difference. I don't like to pay a co-pay when insurance should take care of it. I did light up my Tiparillo Cigar for a few minutes then put it out and back in the box and went to re-enter the clubhouse when I fell. I should not have been outside.

    When I went to Therapy, all the Therapists said the insurance companies love to take your money but they don't like to give it out. Oh Well, what's done is done.
