   Robert, Alan and I share the same risky critter. We have never had a snake bite at Barona since we opened. We have to be on borrowed time. When you watch daily , what people will do and where they will look for a Pinnacle or Top Flite, you shake your head and wonder why we have been this lucky for so long. It will happen some day. Now if you are looking for a Titelist or other top ball, at least you have some excuse for taking the chance of getting bit!

   We have rattlesnakes and alligators in Florida. We took a 900# alligator out of my golf course in the past two weeks. We are also loaded with cottonmouth snakes, which is not enough motivation for our golfers to not fall in every once in a while looking for balls. When I was a kid we used to swim with big gators in the black water Tomoka River in Volusia County Florida just a little north of the Daytona Speedway. They never once bothered us although they always gathered around to watch. We also surfed with very large sharks in the ocean. Volusia County has many shark attacks each year. I presume my parents had a lucrative life insurance policy on me!
