It seems to be systematically eliminating the leadership of ISIS without carpet bombing the region into glass or putting a substantial amount of American boots on the ground with all the ramification entailed in those two concepts. I'd still like to see the CIA drones armed and allowed to take out targets immediately.

Three out of four of these dirtbags are dead in a little over 9 months and the third barely escaped with his life. How long until al-Baghdadi is dead? I say he has less than a matter of months.

Unfortunately, some other misfit will crawl out of the manure pile and claim to be the new leader, Hope they each last about a day! Problem is, the belief has too many lone wolves and really no central leadership. It is cell driven so even without leaders they can still do damage. Hopefully as the leaders all die, whatever funding these cells are getting also dries up.

I Think Sandy, in organizations like this, there are a lot more followers than there are capable leaders. Without charismatic leaders to rally them on, they will tend fall apart. We saw this with al-Qaeda, The name itself means "foundation"

Why is Obama steadfastly holding on, seemingly the last person on earth, to call them ISIL and not ISIS? I have no idea why, and I find it curious.

Why does that matter? I'd rather he call them DAESH but I'm not sure ISIL or ISIS makes any difference. Am I missing a conspiracy?

I suppose it doesn't make any difference as long as ISIL and ISIS are the same thing. No conspiracy that I'm aware of, it's just that he's the last man standing insisting on calling it ISIL.

Petie, call the actions by whatever name you wish. There are always reasons..
not a big deal. Jump to conclusions too early.... what if after a week we found out he rejected Islam, and joined a evangelical outfit, and interpreted their message ? Not likely but why would you commit without the full story?

Nevermind. After noting for several years Obama calling it ISIL, then asking the question here, I Googled it.

Forget that I even asked. Poor Israel.
