winter greens HOC? Cancel The title field is required!

   Curious to know what some of your thoughts/standards are as far as (bentgrass/poa) greens height of cut going into winter, particularly in the midwest/transition zone

   We are at .125 with solid rollers. Will bump to 130-135 before growth stops.

   I would be happy to share benchsettings but... different mowers, different soils, different turf, they don't mean much to me. Suffice it to say I like to bump heights up slightly going into the winter.

   We mow during the season at .120" and we go into winter at .180". We have pure sand greens, and we are located just north of Denver where the wind blows all winter with temperatures fluctuating from -20 to 75. We are open for play all winter, so I like to leave the greens nice and shaggy to help with all the traffic and the misfortune that Mother Nature throws our way.

   SW MO. We mow at .156 during the season and bump it up to .185 around Thanksgiving. Our handicap season starts March 1 and ends Oct. 31.
   
   Depending on weather in March we will lower back to .156 around the middle of the month.
