We have a Cambell Scientific weather station wired into our irrigation computer that works with T.Weather 7 on Site Pro. Curious if any of you have experienced a problem with birds crapping in the rain gauge constantly!? If so what did you use for bird deterrent?

    Thanks

We have the same problem with our ballwashers. I have thought about making a perch that was higher than the ballwasher and the birds would sit there instead of on the Handel. I think it might look weird but for an out of the way wearer station it would probably work.

Anyone have a solution to bird crap on ballwasher handles?

I bought these from gemplers and they work great, for the weather station

Cut coat hangers in to two inch pieces, bend into a "V", and epoxy to the rain gauge.

Wire ties all over the rain screen, works for me.

We just drilled holes in the outside of the rain gauge and used wire ties to make a simple deterrent.
