Sorry, Nothing to do with turf. This may seem like a silly question, but is smoking allowed in your lunch room?

Or maybe there is a designated area for smoking ( tobacco ).

    Thanks Michael

Same here. It's harder and harder to find someone with a lighter nowadays....except for Colorado.

I've worked for several clubs that had a no tobacco use policy. None at all on club property or in the clubs vehicles. I had guys that would go to McDonald's to sit in the parking lot for lunch just to smoke.

Here you cannot smoke on the property anywhere outside the maintenance facility gates, and no smoking in any maintenance buildings or on equipment. If your on the clubs insurance you have to fill out a form each year and if you're a tobacco user it cost you 50 bucks a month extra. Club pushes for better health here, and I am fine with that:)

    Regards,

    I don't get it??
Why is it OK to discriminate against smokers.
SO WHAT if what they do is offensive to some people.
I think they should have the freedom to do what they LOVE wherever they want to do it.
By the way...none of my guys smoke.
I think a couple of them are 'trans-smokers'
One of them carries a cigarette in his mouth but never lights it.
The other says he was born a smoker but identifies himself as a non-smoker.

No smoking in any of our buildings including the shop!

We do not discriminate if you smoke but we can draw the line on where you smoke. if you do not like the rules you are free to express yourself off of our property!

We have two smokers on a 15 person crew and they're sensitive to everyone else's sensibilities. They do it outside and I've never had to ask them. I think it's just implied now. I'm an ex-smoker, so I remember the craving with the morning coffee and stress events or big projects.
The first vape pen that shows up here will get the boot as well.

Yeah, we're bigots that way, we discriminate against drug users and day drinkers, too.

Late afternoon and night drinkers are good. Glue sniffers on the other hand...

I think Michael who posed the question is in Spain, so smoking etiquette is a bit different over there.

When I was a smoker( quit cigs 10 years ago) my wife and I were travelling and landed in Lisbon Portugal and as we taxied to the gate I asked a guy sitting next to me where could I grab a smoke and he told me anywhere except schools and hospitals and we literally both lit up as we walked through the plane exit door. Ahhh...the good old..hack, hack...days.

Hi Keith, Spain has outlawed smoking more or less the same as the States, most all of Europe has as well.

My guys smoke in their lunchroom. There is a better kitchen area in my office which is a 4 bedroom house but I wouldn´t let them smoke so they moved back a couple of years ago to their old hangout which we have fixed up a bit.

No more smoking in bars or restaurants. It is great.

    Saludos Michael

No, never, designated smoking areas outside of workshop area. All employees are fine with it.
