Well, FINALLY done. In a little under a week we did some upgrades to Hector's Shop. Built a new parts room, and layed a Clear Top Coat on the shop floor, and Gave our Lift a well LIFT. Check it out.

I know this is not turf related however I also know this will get seems the most. Currently we have linoleum tile on the shop floor I think. They are individual large plastic tiles that are glued. I would like to replace them. This is for a break room and bathroom. What do you guys suggest? I need something that can withstand dirt, sand , grim and also have the ability to wax or shine. You guys know the deal, we all have the same environments.

We simply paint our concrete with a marine enamel. Not the greatest solution, but can be refinished and I don't have to worry about abrasion on anything else. Ideally, hard ceramic tile would be the best choice I'd think. Not hard to install either. But, we have gravel around our building, so the smooth and paintable concrete floor is the ticket for us. Linoleum would be a tough surface I'd think.

    Jeremy:

Google "Johnsonite Commercial Rubber Flooring". I highly recommend this product.

    My best, Mike

I am doing some similar work in shop, break room, and offices. Looks like rubber flooring might be good for break room, maybe offices. They say not recommended to go over the top of existing vinyl tile, but that is going to complicate our install. Anyone have experience with similar products, but in a floating floor? Thanks.

I have been researching flooring materials for our locker room and kitchen in our clubhouse. We are a low budget course so getting a great floor at a low cost is our only option. After Hurricane Issac flooded our buildings we decided to go with a vinyl floor throughout the clubhouse. They were 6" x 4' strips glued down. I really liked the flooring but installing it on an old concrete floor left many areas with bumps and dips. In our lunchroom we decided to go with a vinyl click lock material which floats much like laminate flooring does. This produces a hollow sound when you walk through it but it is easy to install and using a thin padding helps with the hollow sound to some extent.
Our kitchen is currently painted concrete and leaves us with tougher decisions because if we want to glue it we will have to grind the concrete down and clean it really well to make sure no paint or grease is left on it. using a floating vinyl would be our easiest and cheaper option but with rubber base board molding you would probably see gaps around the edges since you still need to leave 1/4"-1/2" gaps around the walls for expansion and contraction of the concrete.
The best flooring type would be the epoxy flooring but it takes a lot longer to install and is more expensive. you would be amazed with the newer types of floor coatings you can install.

this is some of the upper level epoxy flooring just to give you an idea of what can be done.
https://www.everlastepoxy.com/how-to this is one I have been thinking about installing. I love the way you can make your own base board molding using the same material.

Not sure how much you are willing to spend but a floating vinyl is cheap and very easy to install.
