We need to paint our 100, 150 ,200, and 250 fairway yardage markers. In years past we would use an exterior latex paint from Lowes but the paint would begin to peel off within a few weeks. Any good ideas for painting the markers with a paint that will last a couple of seasons?

We have granite tee markers. We use the Rust-Oleum oil base and can get almost a year out of them. You need to clean them first though.

I recieved a recommendation from the maker of our granite stantions to use automotive paint. I do not recall exactly which one, but it looks great years later.

The best paint for any stone is supposed to be Monument Grade Lithichrome Paint. It is a paint/ink product that should last 15+ years.

We have cement patio blocks and we use an oil based paint, usually rustoleum and we will get a good year out of them. We do clean real good, I do wonder if we should etch them, but we don't, we do prime them the first time.

I second the use of the monument grade lithichrome paint. We have found that anything else peels and chips during the year, especially if you are spraying chemicals on a regular basis. Try finding a headstone/monument store near you and asking them to help you locate some. They have almost any color you can think of and it lasts. It can be a little more expensive than the store-bought stuff found at Lowes or Home Depot, but you don't usually need more than a quart of any color.
