I am looking for someone with a used mower to part out or a cross reference for a hydraulic motor on an HT7 National 84" mower. It is the small motor that couples to the rear end. part # 202494
or a cross reference for a new seal kit part # 203992. The seal alone is $98 and I'm not sure if it will work. looking for a less expensive option to try.

I am looking for the exact same thing. In trying to remove the seal ( actually 2 seals) I broke the flange on the motor. In looking at the motor shaft, it appears to be worn so that a new seal would probably not work for long anyway. What I would like to know is the Eaton motor model or number. Our motor does not have a name plate on it - just two holes where a nameplate probably was. Does yours still have a name plate on it.

John. I just rubbed the paint off of the area you're talking about and found the numbers 158-1538-001 stamped there.
Its an Eaton/Char/lyn I found it at Applied.com using that #. It is a T series. they want $380 as opposed to the dealers $615 I'm gonna keep looking for a cheaper one or maybe a seal kit.

Thank you very much for the motor info. For sure that price is a lot better than National's, but I will hunt for another as well. I will let you know if I find one.
I guess the seal kit includes the two seals and the spacer/washers that go in between. I am not sure how they go as when we busted the flange (stupidly, I might add) every thing went flying. What I had planned to do was find the seal numbers and try to get them from the local bearing/seal house. if you just take the old ones in, they usually can match them up. After breaking the flange, I pretty much am committed to a replacement motor. Thanks again for the info.

John, I found the OEM for $331 at 1-877-FLUIDPOWER
they also had a replacement non OEM for $231 but it is about 3/8" longer
I'm checking next week to see if I can do it with the 3/8" extra because Young Powertech has their own version for $170-$190 their part# is YMRS-125-H2-K-S-B. lost their # right now but I got the main# off the Internet and they sent me to a fairly local distributor here in PA. Fluid Power is out of Detroit. Big range of prices for a common Eaton motor that our Jacobsen distributor wants $620 plus shipping for.
