Lat season a senior member passed away and his friends took up a collection to build a new senior tee in his honor. Tee is complete and is really nice. I would like to put a memorial plaque on the tree near the tee. what are the best options that you guys have used and does par aide or standard have any of that? thanks again

    James,

Although I'm not a huge fan of having plaques out on the golf course this might be a case where I would suggest it might actually be more appropriate to do a plaque associated with the tee yardage sign or on a bench. It seems as though the members must have made a pretty good donation to have a new tee built and somehow a sign on a tree doesn't quite seem fitting enough.

In our case we accept donations of memorial trees but don't allow any plaques at all, just let the donor know what tree it is and where we will plant it on the course. If they want to come out when we actually plant the tree we let them do that as well.

I think any of the major suppliers can provide you with a variety of appropriate options for the actual plaque.

National Golf Graphics, I've purchased Bronze plaques from them which I inset into the tee surface as "tee plaques" hole #, yardage, etc... I think it would be recognized more if done this way rather than walking to a tree to read. Just my 2 cents.
