What is the largest diameter hollow tine anyone has used on the 10 tine holder for the 648 without mass destruction? Sand based bent greens.

We havent used the 10 tine holder for a while, we switched to the 6 tine holder (1 row) gets spacing to 1.3" tine spacing instead of 1.6"

Tine we use is the JRM Dillennium Magnum Quad Plus. 5/8" x 5.5" with 3/8" mount Part #1QT625504

These tines are truly a beast, with our management company easily get 100+ greens.

1/4 is the largest we have done with those holders and pulling plugs and we couldn't go very deep without lifting the turf. USGA spec with Pennlinks. We even get some lifting using 3/8 solids if too deep.

I used to use 1/2" ID

It removes a lot of material but it also heaves a lot. We switched to 5/8" in the 4 tine head and it almost removes as much but there's no damage.

A lot will depend on your turf and if it can withstand the heaving. If you don't want to see any heaving I wouldn't go over the 1/4" tines
