   Hello, Was wondering if anyone hand waters cool season greens out of summer period?
   
   We are now in 60 to 75F range. There was a blast of 1 inch of rain in mid September and my greens were good without water for about 10 days. I then starting handwatering same old dry areas from summer time and like what I am seeing with hardly any central irrigation. We have 4 months with no rain and highs getting to 90-100F
   
   We are in southern Spain. I am creating a new surrounds Sitepro program to stop collars and surrounds from weakening and looking to minimize central irrigation on greens until late spring.
   
   What do you think, PLEASE. My crew think I am crazy.

   I think it is a great idea, we have handwatered this fall rather than fire up all the heads. I have used my TDR300 as proof that some areas need water and some do not. This might be the tool that you can use to convince your crew.

   Sent handwaterers around earlier this week. As long as we can spare the labor, we try to run things the same no matter the season.

   Thanks to all for input. I have consulted top supers here in Spain and two of three are in accord with extensive handwatering. The third has really bad quality water with sodium from sparkling water bottling plant entering his waste treatment supply. He applies 1 1/2 inches every 10 days to leach as best as possible and hand watering does not do it for him.
   
   My water for the moment ( last 20 years ) is perfectly balanced for calcium, magnesium, and sodium. We will begin with effluent heavily saturated with magnesium ver next year or two.
